Moving Out of State? Why Choose a Professional Mover?

Moving out of state is a comprehensive process.  At White Glove Moving & Storage, we know that there are many steps involved.  Click here for a calendar to help time your steps accordingly.

That is why, aligning with a reputable van line is important to ensure the move is done well. More importantly, with all the necessary checks/balances in place. Hiring less than reputable movers can prove to be a gamble as many “rogue movers” hold items hostage or fail to ever deliver. Mainly because,  they have no one to hold them accountable.  In 2017, White Glove Moving & Storage saw a higher demand for quicker turnarounds in out of state moves.  As a result, we and chose to become a Bekins Agent.  Though they have nearly 130 years in the  industry, it was primarily their vetting process and commitment to excellence that helped our team to make the switch.  Federal regulations can make moving over state lines a bit daunting. Knowing our reputation is the key to our decades of success then and now, choosing Bekins as our interstate agent was a great fit.

Today, White Glove Moving & Storage is proud to share that we have the title, for the second year in a row, of  Spire Award winner. This distinctive award, honors moving companies that consistently provide an excellent interstate moving experience for their customers.

“Our goal as a van line is to focus on our customers,” said A.J. Schneider, Executive Vice President of Bekins. “We’re proud to announce that White Glove Moving & Storage did such a wonderful job of treating people well in 2018 that they have achieved this distinction of quality.”

The Spire Award program recognizes moving companies in the Bekins van line network that deliver a quality experience to customers. A combination of customer feedback and other service excellence performance metrics throughout the moving process factor into the formula for choosing winners.

White Glove’s headquarters are in the Treasure Coast of Florida, yet we perform moves throughout the state. Especially for folks moving into or out of our geographical area.  Whether the move is local to Florida or an interstate relocation through Bekins van lines, the estimate is always free. Our educated relocation specialists are happy to address all questions as they arise.  Our team works with our customers every step of the way. We are proud to make moving easy.  772-78-750

Nearly 1.5 Tons of Food Raised During the 6th Annual White Glove Moving Holiday Food Drive

The holidays just got a lot brighter thanks to the efforts of over 55 Treasure Coast businesses, gated communities, networking groups, customers and one very driven moving company.  During the sixth annual White Glove Moving holiday food drive, over 2800 pounds of food was collected and delivered to the Treasure Coast Food Bank which equates to roughly 4,700 meals for the 200,000 food insecure families throughout Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties.

Not only did the food drive exceed its goal by nearly a thousand pounds, it also served as an opportunity for folks to discuss the severity of the food needs in our area as the Treasure Coast Food Bank embarks upon its 30th year of helping to fight hunger.

A contest for each county was conducted to stimulate giving.  In Indian River County the winner for most amount of non-perishable food was Cravings and The Beached Whale located on Ocean Drive in Vero Beach who managed to fill entire drums full of food.  In St. Lucie county, Branca Realty stepped up with nearly an entire truck load of goods from bottle water and diapers to canned food. Martin County’s top producer was Florida Non-Emergency Medical Transportation – MTM Inc who collected more than four boxes full of holiday inspired food.  A special thank you to all who participated based on the county.

Move for Hunger: Mover of the Year!

White Glove Moving, Storage & Delivery is proud to be named “Mover of the Year” for the nationwide non-profit, Move for Hunger.  Recognized as the official charity partner for Bekins Vanlines, Move for Hunger, mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste. To date, the network has collected more than 6,000,000 pounds of food that is more than 5,000,000 meals!

As an active participant, White Glove works with customers in the moving process to donate unwanted- food so it can be put in food pantries rather than landfills.  Since 2013, White Glove has helped ensure over 100,000 lbs. of food has gotten to the Treasure Coast Food Bank and other food distribution points to help families who are food insecure.

Though customers who move help supply a steady stream of non-perishable food items throughout the year, the biggest impact are the two community-wide food drives our moving company hosts. By working with our local chambers of commerce and contacts, an email and social media campaign is released at the start of summer break and again just before Thanksgiving. The request is simple: Care to be a food drive box host?  For those who commit, which dozens do, the logistics are simple. White Glove Moving delivers empty boxes and a few weeks later returns to pick up full boxes. Many businesses and communities use hosting a box to reach out to others and get their staff, customers and neighbors to donate food.  Once the food drive concludes all businesses who contribute are recognized publicly and some are even featured on local radio.

Currently over 50 businesses are hosting boxes with pick up scheduled the week of December 12th.  The goal is to reach 2,000 lbs. of food to help ensure as many folks as possible enjoy a delicious holiday feast.  Thank you to all who are participating throughout the Treasure Coast.  Participating businesses are broken down by city:

Hurricane Michael Relief Efforts: It Takes a Village

Hats off to all the amazing residents, business partners and staff throughout the #TreasureCoast area and #IndianRiverCounty for all that was contributed to make our relief effort run to the Panhandle of Florida on October 26th, 2018 a success.  The town of Malone, hard hit by Hurricane Michael, was grateful to receive the thousands of pounds of supplies.  Greeted by the the Mayor himself, the National Guard and other first-responders all hands were on deck, ready to help unload.

“It’s amazing to see what can be done when we all link up to help,” commented Jennifer Toby who  headed up the organizational efforts alongside Marty Zickert of the Veterans Council of Indian River County.  Starting with a phone call immediately following impact, the team at White Glove Moving & Storage was able to send a truck to mobilize to West Palm Beach to pick up several thousand MRE’s for shipment to the Panhandle via commuter planes on October 12th.  Thanks to the generosity of Islamorada Brewery, crews were able to store items there which was close to the St. Lucie County airport to shuttle the “ready to eat” meals to the planes once clearance was given.

From that point, in just two weeks, several thousands pounds of food and supplies were raised by local groups and residents. Honorable mentions must be given to the Community Church of Vero, the Indian River Food Pantry, Remax Associated Realty, Dale Sorensen Real Estate, the Robin Raiff EXP Real Estate Team and Walking Tree Brewery who all went above and beyond to gather supplies that were much needed for the town of Malone.  White Glove Moving once again mobilized a truck and crew, this time driving all the way to City Hall in Malone.  While many roads were open, there was still much devastation and debris everywhere. Many areas were still without power or were operating on marginal means.

“Being in a position to be able to give back and offer much needed help by using our movers and trucks is really rewarding,” remarked Caleb Clements, President of White Glove Moving & Storage.  To date, the White Glove team along with the many wonderful people of our Treasure Coast community raised and moved more than 30,000 lbs of goods to the area. As movers with big hearts, White Glove welcomes the opportunity to assist when available especially to our fellow Florida neighbors.

Should you know of anyone moving and wish to recommend our community, our team would greatly appreciate the referrals as we hope to continually be a resource for folks needing help with the heavy lifting.  Free estimates and more information available by calling 772-778-4750.

Moving Makes Burgess’ Family Dreams Come True

August 28th, 2018 marked the day the Burgess family was able to officially move into their new space. Thanks to the help of the St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, St. Lucie Battery & Tire and White Glove Moving & Storage, an adequate wheelchair accessible house is now where Passion and her family can call home.

After being hit by a stray bullet in a drive-by shooting in 2005, Passion Burgess was left a paraplegic at the age of 18.  Enduring physical therapy and a pregnancy at the same time, Passion found faith and hope and was able to give birth to a healthy boy, Elijah.  This story of overcoming and beating the odds is inspiring and her motto of “once you take the DIS out of DISABILITY, you have the ABILITY to do anything” really had business partner throughout the Treasure Coast eager to step up and lend a hand.

“One of the joys of working with Habitat is the extraordinary people who work with us. Passion Burgess is a remarkable woman who has persevered and worked through challenges I can barely imagine. Her light and determination is an inspiration to all. Her school students are privileged to have her as their teacher.” – Bob Calhoun, Executive Director, St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity

Committed to giving back to the community, members of St. Lucie Battery & Tire volunteered on July 7th and laid sixteen pallets of sod for the Burgess family.  The enthusiastic team of auto mechanics and tire experts sponsored the home and hosted the house dedication on August 11th, 2018. At the ceremony dedication, SLBT donated a brand-new electric lawn mower to Elijah, the oldest son, to keep the lawn looking good.  “Passion and her family are an inspiration to our entire team,” Lindsey Concannon, Marketing Director at SLBT.

Once finishing touches were made to this newly constructed home, a professional crew at White Glove Moving & Storage assisted by moving the Burgess family from their apartment in Ft. Pierce to their new home, full of handicap accessible amenities, in Lakewood Park. In a matter of hours, beds were assembled, furniture was placed, and boxes were organized by room making their transition that much easier.  “It is rewarding to be able to give back simply by doing what we do best,” Caleb Clements, President of White Glove Moving & Storage said, “We enjoy a close relationship with Habitat for Humanity as well as St. Lucie Battery & Tire, when we can help in circumstances such as this it is a joy for all our team of movers and office staff to get on board and help make a family’s dream a reality.”

In this new space, Passion and her family’s lives will be changed for the better.  Life will be simpler, the neighborhood will be safe, and it will give them a sense of normalcy they never have experienced.
