Exciting Summertime Happenings!

Since 2013, White Glove Moving & Storage has been active with the Realtors Association of Broward, the Palm Beaches and St. Lucie County. As a give back, this association helps provide money for closing costs for families who meet the eligibility requirements within St. Lucie County.  In partnership with other groups, the Foundation addresses local housing opportunities, believing homeownership should be attainable for all. With the support of our Realtor® members and Affiliates, our Realtor® Association works in conjunction with the Foundation to plan fundraising events, seek monetary gifts from local businesses, and sponsor education classes about the role and benefits that our Foundation brings to housing in St. Lucie County. This year, we hosted a global themed tradeshow and not only did we raise nearly $5k for the cause, White Glove Moving won the best themed table representing Mexico.

This past Stuart Chamber luncheon, we did just that with sparkly patriotic centerpieces. May is National Moving Month

Spring is here and Memorial Day is around the bend, that means moving season is upon us. Since 1997, May has also been given the honor of being national moving month. As an interstate agent with Bekins Vanlines, White Glove Moving & Storage has been helping families take advantage of moving late Spring through summer for the past twenty years. It is no wonder, when school is out and the weather in the northeast and midwest goes from gray to clear skies, many use this time to move.

Of course, moving can be more than a hassle, it can be a downright overwhelming proposition. Regardless of the size and distance, here are a few useful tips and tricks to help make the process easier:

*Book a reputable moving company. Post covid, there are many cash buyers and other factors that can result in the need to move much quicker than in the past which in turn is creating high demand. Thus, it’s essential to book a quality moving company quickly. At White Glove Moving & Storage, we offer both in-person and virtual surveys to provide accurate pricing and ensure the crews have the right tools and materials for the job. Thereby, providing peace of mind that come moving day; it all goes smoothly.

*Throw away or donate as much as possible before and during the packing process.

*Use laundry baskets, trash bins, and suitcases as boxes if you are doing a direct move. If you know you will need more, ask your estimator during the complimentary survey, how many boxes and what sizes they recommend. When White Glove is chosen as your mover, those boxes can be arranged for delivery or pick up so you can start packing sooner rather than later. Of course, should you wish to have the professionals pack for you; that is always an option and we welcome the opportunity to be of further service.

*In lieu of bubble wrap, protect your dishes and fragile items with clothing and linens.

*While your clothes are still hanging in the closet, put them inside a trash bag to make unpacking simpler.

*Put stemware and glasses inside clean socks for extra padding.

*Eat at home during your last week to clear your fridge and pantry as best you can. Keep in mind, if you are moving over state lines the actual end cost is based on weight so don’t let that be in soup cans; rather donate your heavy non-perishable items. At White Glove, as Move for Hunger movers, we can help with that by taking your reserved box of items to the warehouse for our big delivery to the Treasure Coast Food Bank.

*Plan out your wardrobe for the week before you pack, then pack the clothes that you don’t plan on wearing for the week.

Other tips for clean out once your items are moved include:

*Use white Ivory soap, toothpaste, and other items to fill nail holes in your walls.

*Broken glass on the floor? Use a slice of bread to pick up the pieces that your broom missed!

*Remove any dents in the carpet that furniture left behind with ice cubes. Simply place the ice cubes on the dents, let them melt, and use a spoon to lift the fibers.

*If you have scuff marks on hardwood floors, cut a hole in a tennis ball, stick the ball on the end of a broom, and rub the scuff mark until it disappears.

*Wrap a rubber band around a hammer to prevent scuffing the wall when removing nails.

*Unwanted electronics, remotes and more? Visit a local electronics recycler like Staples where these kinds of items can be recycled into something new.

In closing, yes moving can be stressful but when you enlist the help of the pros and you take the proper time to sort;  moving can be an adventure, too. New home, new places to explore. Thereby,  expanding your horizons to make new connections. At White Glove, during National Moving Month, and all year long; we enjoy being a small part of that exciting process when a move occurs for a family, individual or business. White Glove Moving & Storage Celebrates 2021 Success with a National Award for Sales & Quality Service

In many ways, 2021 was a tough year for small business owners. Thousands of businesses closed during the beginning of the pandemic to stop the spread. Then was the issues related to staffing resulting from the “great resignation.” Local business, White Glove Moving & Storage, however, has some good news to celebrate: the company earned Bekins Van Lines’ Silver Sales Award for 2021 for their hard work in a challenging environment. Bekins is the fourth largest household goods carrier in the United States, and White Glove, alongside about 400 agencies nationwide, partners with the van line for all their interstate moves. Bekins’ sales recognition award program recognizes agencies within the network who educate customers moving into or out of Florida and book their moves over the course of the year. The volume figures used for the various award levels are a summation of booking revenues for those customers moved. White Glove Moving & Storage is one of only ten Bekins agencies to achieve the Silver Sales Award in 2021.

“The environment has been tough,” said A.J. Schneider, President of Bekins Van Lines. “ White Glove has perfected the art of educating customers on the interstate moving process and setting their expectations for the whole process. They’re really a guide for the customer through what can be a stressful endeavor, so it’s not surprising so many customers want to work with this group.”

Additionally, this local leader is also the recipient of the Spire Award. The Spire program is designed to recognize moving companies in the Bekins Van Lines network that offer quality experiences to those using their services. It combines customer feedback and other Service Excellence performance metrics with data throughout the moving process to determine whether the agent has met the high-quality criteria. White Glove received the distinctive Spire Award again, which honors moving companies in the network that consistently provide an excellent moving experience for their customers, during the recent vanline summit accepted by Principle, Caleb Clements.

“Customer satisfaction is imperative for service companies like ours that earn much of our new business through referrals. We survey customers after their moves and reward agents who earn high marks with the annual Bekins/Wheaton Spire award,” said A.J. Schneider. “We’re proud to announce that White Glove, headquartered in the Treasure Coast of Florida, has treated people so well in 2021 that they have achieved this distinction of quality.”

In summary, the team at White Glove is proud of the work we do to make moving as easy, cost effective and pleasurable as possible. We hope to be a “go-to” resource for you to mention to friends and family who may want to plan a move in the future whether it’s local or nationwide. As always, it is a free estimate and with proper planning and notice; ideal dates can be reserved.

How Valuation Works for Your Move

Without a doubt, moving can be stressful. Of course, over time, many begin to find value in hiring a professional mover versus dealing with doing the hard work themselves. In particular, moving in South Florida can be a real aggravation due to the heat coupled with rules put forth by the various gated communities. Thus, when a customer does take the first step in hiring the pros to make the move that much easier, valuation should be something that is discussed.

In the world of moving and storage, whether the clients are moving locally or nationwide, coverage that is provided to the consumer is not insurance. Rather, it is referred to as valuation coverage and not all movers provide this type of peace of mind to their customers. At White Glove Moving & Storage, we are proud to provide valuation and openly discuss the options it offers during the complimentary survey. Keep in mind, onsite surveys are now performed both in person and virtually. One of the reasons we want to offer both options, is because we enjoy providing pricing and preparing our crews with the real details. That is only possible when our trained teams are able to see what is needing to be move and learn more about the details of where it is going or coming from. This is very true when it comes to interstate moves. As an agent with Bekins Vanlines, we work hard to help our customers understand the specifics of their move while alleviating the stress incurred while juggling the logistics of moving a great distance.

Once the survey is complete, our relocation specialists then take the time to learn more about the customers goods and their expectations of the move. No matter if it is near or far, there are some precautions that our team encourages customers to take to help safe gaurd their items like crating glass tops or custom crates for artwork that has its own lighting. Suggestions such as these are made whether the client chooses to pack themselves or opts for a full pack by the pros. It is important to notate, that which is packed by owner cannot be covered by valuation. No matter how you decide to handle packing, during the conversation, our team knows to ask pertinent questions and can identify high value items that helps to navigate the options of valuation. For example, an antique collectible chandelier worth an appraised value of over seven thousand dollars should be included in the valuation coverage whether it is highlighted as an individual piece or part of the entire shipment. Whereas, a standard rocking chair with no real high value wouldn’t need to be covered on its own, though it would be covered if there was protection taken out for the entire shipment which is based on weight.

Of course, should some sort of a claim arise from a bump of the wall to the accidental dropping of a piece during the off load, there are a few ways that this is addressed when valuation coverage is at play. If it can be fixed, a repair person is sent out as soon as possible to remedy it. Repair over replacement is always encouraged and sometimes this results in no deductible even needing to be paid. Other times, when full replacement of something is a must, the client is given a new item or check minus the deductible fees. Keep in mind, with years of experience under our belt, our team strives to avoid claims to the best of our ability. Still, things do happen and there are a lot of potholes throughout the country that can cause issues during transit. Valuation protection is always encouraged and the cost effective nature of the options makes selecting that coverage an affordable solution for peace of mind for your prized possessions.

Celebrating 20 Years!

As of 2022, our team is thrilled to celebrating 20 years of continual business serving customers moving, storage, and receiving needs throughout the region. As trusted Treasure Coast movers, we take great pride in being able to offer dependable and reliable service. In our twenty years, we have grown in size as a team and in infrastructure. Without a doubt, it has been an incredible journey full of lessons and terrific milestones.

Starting off in a simple warehouse, our current facilities now include three total climate controlled warehouse with numerous loading docks and a fleet of sixteen trucks. Year to date, we have performed upwards of 40,000 moves and deliveries. Each time, we are able to improve upon our skillset and strive to continue that growth and dedication. When we first formed, we catered almost exclusively to interior design firms and now we are full fledged professional movers providing long haul services as an interstate agent with Bekins van lines.

Additionally, we are proud of is our ability to help our community. Since 2002, we have gained loyal customers for a variety of reasons yet nearly all comment on how they appreciate our dedication to the charities and community wide events throughout the Treasure Coast. Some of those favorite events include: Gardenfest, Artsfest, Under the Oaks, Senior Resource Association, Move for Hunger, Treasure Coast Food Bank, Women’s Council of Realtors St. Lucie and Martin Counties, Little Birthday Angels, Madison’s Miracles, Little Leagues, Chambers of Commerce, Environmental Learning Center and so many more.  Beyond assisting local charities and community events, we greatly enjoy supporting the families of our team members from youth sports to advancement in their education.

Thus, as we look ahead to our 20th birthday, it is with great appreciation we share this honor to our incredible customers and referral sources. Hosting a local talk radio show and three monthly networking luncheons, it’s a complete joy to have a deep understanding of the ins and outs of the Treasure Coast.  Should you have fun stories or reviews to share about your experience with White Glove Moving & Storage over the years, we welcome them and hope to put together  compellations of them all as a recap of twenty years of success with many more year ahead.
