Moving with Pets: Advice & Tips

Whether moving across the street or country, moving with a pet can add some extra stress to a move. Will your pet like the new space? Are they able to fly or will you have to drive? What if there is a delay in the delivery and if so, how will that affect your pets’ comfort? With over 22 years of moving experience, our White Glove Moving team has some really useful tips to share along with the help of our vanline, Bekins:

Remember, choosing to have an onsite complementary survey prior to your move is the best way to be educated about the entire process. With 52 full time employees, we have the ability to make moves of all sizes and distances a reality. Keeping in mind, demand is still high and proper planning with at least 2-4 weeks advanced notice is best to ensure dates and expectations are all met with ease. The estimate takes approximately one hour and can be done in person or virtually utilizing smart phone technology. It is our sincere wish to be the movers you choose to help make your relocation as cost effective and pleasurable as possible. Happy planning!

Spirts, Crafts & Laughs

2024 has had some great successes when it comes to the world of real estate. In Florida, eight new insurance providers have entered into the marketplace. As it stands, that makes home insurance a little more competitive and we no longer have to rely on Citizens. Hence, prices are stabilizing and in another year or so, hopefully will start going down. Leadership in Florida recently posted about some wins:

Then, something that affects so many businesses, is the reduction of business rent tax. Of course, all this advocacy requires funding and RPAC helps with that.

Here are the levels that realtors are able to invest at that are on a Major Investor platform.  Yet, many want to contribute and can’t commit to those higher dollar amounts. Hence, the $99 dollar club and fair share giving of just $25.

Conveniently, the event hosted with the MCRTC Association, Part of District 3, allows the funds for each ticket purchased to go directly to the recipient’s annual investment. Thanks to the generous support of the five sponsors for Spirits, Crafts & Laughs, the cost of the event is covered. Guests can expect a delicious dinner catered by Michelina’s, a terrific array of drinks options provided by our host venue of Frazier Creek, and three featured comedians. It is going to be a night of fun had by all, an experience and camaraderie with fellow invested realtors from the region. RSVP today. White Glove Moving & Storage is proud to help support this event and mission.

May is National Moving Month

May is such a wonderful time of the year. Here, in Florida, kids graduate from school and/or begin to prepare for summer break. Nationally, we celebrate all Moms the 2nd Sunday of the month. In fact, it is a theme White Glove Moving fully embraces and had fun throughout the Treasure Coast highlighting moms during our presentations leading up to the holiday. This included tying in moms of the animal kingdom, humankind, and moving details for our Palm City Chamber and St. Lucie Realtor events. In Martin County, the realtors association allowed White Glove to host Market Watch and we tied in fun facts about Mother’s Day along with moving and storage; each volunteer always takes home a prize. Then, in Stuart for the Future of Aviation panel hosted by the Stuart Chamber of Commerce, White Glove Moving was able to incorporate some Fact and Fiction fun about the companies each panelist represented and blended those details into moving and storage while also giving away some worthwhile Mother’s Day inspired gifts. Better yet, June 28th, we will be one of the sponsors for the Motherhood Exhibit captured by Jolee Art & Photography; click to learn more. Additionally, at the end of each May, we pay homage to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms during Memorial Day. It is a busy month, full of bright and happy colors; maybe that is the reason it is also considered national moving month…because people are out and about making plans and embracing change.

Throughout much of the nation, as May brings the sunshine, house sales tick up. Whereas in Florida the heat and humidity is what increases. Though historically we have seen a slow down, post covid we notice that the demand for moving and storage in the Treasure Coast has stabled during the summer months. In fact, with more people staying in their homes remodeling is on the rise. Even with the items being shifted into garages, spare rooms, or into our climate controlled facility, having professional movers is a must. The items are all properly protected and moved in mere hours, it is worthwhile and cost effective. As always, no matter how big or far your moving needs may be; it is always a free estimate. 772-778-4750

Yet, as the demand for moving services rise for many during the summer months, so does the ability to prey on unsuspecting folks by rogue and predatory fraudulent moving brokers. Recently, a situation occurred with a local realtor in the Treasure Coast to a customer of hers who booked online with the cheapest mover she could find versus taking the recommendation of her agent to use a reputable and real moving company. Interestingly enough, the bid for us to move her versus what the rogue movers quoted was just $400 difference yet in the end, with their scare tactics and ransom demands, she paid more than $2k more…here’s an impromptu Q&A the realtor asked us to help with after the horrific experience was over for her client.

Bekins Spire and Top Customer Service Award Winners

Being a trusted moving and storage partner in the Treasure Coast of Florida is rewarding. In 2024, White Glove Moving & Storage is celebrating 22 years of continued service. In part, because of the hard work and dedication of our team along with great systems and software to ensure a smooth moving experience. Another part, because of our ability to help with the moving needs of our “neighbors” when they aren’t just going from one house to the next locally, it is when a bigger, much longer move is needed.

Since 2017, being an interstate agent with Bekins vanlines has helped us to be a top rated resource for folks moving into and out of Florida. From our relocation experts onsite getting the details correct, to the our long haul coordinator putting all the pieces and drivers together, to the Bekins umbrella itself; we are able to give them a worry free move from start to finish. It makes us proud to perform such good work while also earing their praise in the community.

Hence, being recognized by Bekins for those efforts seems worthy of highlighting. The 2023 Customer Loyalty Awards recognizes agents who have met the following criteria in a calendar year:

RPAC Fundraiser was a Success!

Since 1969, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is clear: voluntary contributions made by REALTORS® are used to help elect candidates who understand and support their interests. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of the importance of the political process. The REALTORS® Political Action Committee and other political fundraising are the keys to protecting and promoting the real estate industry.

In August of 2023, the Martin County Realtors of the Tresure Coast hosted their annual membership appreciation and RPAC fundraiser at the esteemed Elliott Museum in Stuart. With multiple silent and live auction items to bid on, the well-attended event helped to bring in over $5k for RPAC.

As a friendly competition, the association added an award for the affiliate company and real estate office that was able to bring in the most dollars based on their donations. With over $500 raised from the donation of a smoothie truck party and designer hurricane candle holders, White Glove Moving & Storage was thrilled to be given the trophy for the affiliate category.

As a moving and storage company, realtors are referral partners that we value and the importance of real estate as an industry is vital to the Treasure Coast. At White Glove, we are pleased to support the productiveness of real estate. It is an honor to be recognized as a supporter of RPAC and we look forward many more years of participation.

White Glove Moving Places 2nd in Annual Battle of the Realtors

Little Birthday Angels is a Treasure Coast non-profit that strives to celebrate the birthdays of every child that is registered as homeless throughout the region. They are able to collaborate with each school district and the homelessness liaison onsite to get the information as to whether these kids and their families are in shelters or living in cars, tents, or even couch surfing. By collecting that data along eith their birthdays, age, clothing and shoe size, and wish list the team of volunteers go to task to procure the items and distribute them.

The distribution is an incredible feat  and is two-fold. For those kids staying in shelters, a birthday party is hosted each month complete with decorations, cake, games, presents, pictures, and more. The other children are given gifts by way of a large black duffel bag at school. Inside is chock full of toiletries, clothes, shoes, toy, lap desk, and more. The cost of each bag is roughly $220 and the demand is sadly quite high with nearly 1,000 students in need.

For the past four years, the realtors of the area along with trusted affiliates have banned together for a night of spirited fun to raise awareness and dollars for the cause. Not only does White Glove Moving form a team to play since year one, our Director of Marketing, Anna Valencia Tillery serves as the emcee while also being a sponsor of the event.

White Glove Moving & Storage proudly took home 2nd place with Caleb Clements, Terry Wright, Rick Copher, and Mike Carter at the helm scoring over 700 points. First place went to Keller Williams of Vero Beach and third place to the Coldwell Banker Paradise team led by Vance Brinkerhoff. Remax Crown won for team spirit which included elaborate costumes and a Evil Knievel on a bike shooting out of a ring of faux fire; what a night and all for a great cause!
