May is National Moving Month

May is such a wonderful time of the year. Here, in Florida, kids graduate from school and/or begin to prepare for summer break. Nationally, we celebrate all Moms the 2nd Sunday of the month. In fact, it is a theme White Glove Moving fully embraces and had fun throughout the Treasure Coast highlighting moms during our presentations leading up to the holiday. This included tying in moms of the animal kingdom, humankind, and moving details for our Palm City Chamber and St. Lucie Realtor events. In Martin County, the realtors association allowed White Glove to host Market Watch and we tied in fun facts about Mother’s Day along with moving and storage; each volunteer always takes home a prize. Then, in Stuart for the Future of Aviation panel hosted by the Stuart Chamber of Commerce, White Glove Moving was able to incorporate some Fact and Fiction fun about the companies each panelist represented and blended those details into moving and storage while also giving away some worthwhile Mother’s Day inspired gifts. Better yet, June 28th, we will be one of the sponsors for the Motherhood Exhibit captured by Jolee Art & Photography; click to learn more. Additionally, at the end of each May, we pay homage to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms during Memorial Day. It is a busy month, full of bright and happy colors; maybe that is the reason it is also considered national moving month…because people are out and about making plans and embracing change.

Throughout much of the nation, as May brings the sunshine, house sales tick up. Whereas in Florida the heat and humidity is what increases. Though historically we have seen a slow down, post covid we notice that the demand for moving and storage in the Treasure Coast has stabled during the summer months. In fact, with more people staying in their homes remodeling is on the rise. Even with the items being shifted into garages, spare rooms, or into our climate controlled facility, having professional movers is a must. The items are all properly protected and moved in mere hours, it is worthwhile and cost effective. As always, no matter how big or far your moving needs may be; it is always a free estimate. 772-778-4750

Yet, as the demand for moving services rise for many during the summer months, so does the ability to prey on unsuspecting folks by rogue and predatory fraudulent moving brokers. Recently, a situation occurred with a local realtor in the Treasure Coast to a customer of hers who booked online with the cheapest mover she could find versus taking the recommendation of her agent to use a reputable and real moving company. Interestingly enough, the bid for us to move her versus what the rogue movers quoted was just $400 difference yet in the end, with their scare tactics and ransom demands, she paid more than $2k more…here’s an impromptu Q&A the realtor asked us to help with after the horrific experience was over for her client.

2023 Affiliate of the Year for the Martin County Realtors of the Treasure Coast

Being recognized for hard work and consistency is rewarding. At White Glove Moving, Storage & Delivery we are proud to be an active affiliate member of the Martin County Realtors of the Treasure Coast association. For the past five years, Anna Valencia Tillery has proudly served as the affiliate chair for the organization and helps to put on an event a quarter to engage the realtors with fun filled activities. At the Annual Awards & Installation Luncheon on Friday, September 22nd, with a Martin Arts theme, the incoming board and new president, Stephen Ngo are recognized along with awards given out. As the winner is being described in words, no names are mentioned, which added such buzz in the room as members tried to guess the winner of each award. It was exciting to hear fun facts about our company’s involvement leading up to the unveiling of the name. It was the description of the lively, interactive, and memorable presentations that helped all the audience quickly discern that Mrs. Valencia Tillery, Director of Marking for White Glove Moving & Storage would be the winner.

Of course, Affiliate of the Year was not the only award. The Martin County Realtors of the Treasure Coast also gave out the following awards in recognition of the service and dedication to various causes these members have making them highly deserving of acknowledgement for their endeavors:

🌟REALTOR® of the Year: Dan Carmody

🌟Distinguished Service: Bill Dean

🌟Community Service: Jason Flannery

🌟Community Service: Krista Singleton

🌟Affiliate Member of the Year: Anna Valencia Tillery

🌟Affiliate Company of the Year: Manchester Insurance

The Martin County Realtors of the Treasure Coast hosted their annual installation and awards luncheon at Monarch Country Club. With a sold-out crowd, the room was transformed into a patriotic display full of networking and applause for affiliates and realtor members alike. Since 2020 was such an unusual year, the membership agreed to renew the positions of the board. Hence, here is the board for 2021-2022:

Lorna Moodie, Director; Dan Carmody, President-Elect; Catherine Winters, Director; Jeff Clark, Immediate Past-President; Andy Spears, President; Marissa Corbo, Secretary-Treasurer; Ann Schmidt, Director; Michael Ponte, Director; Christy Bearse, Vice President; Stephen Ngo, Director; Sandy McAlister, Director; and Rosi Shepard, Director.

There were many winners that day with Jeff Clark being awarded Realtor of the Year, Bill Dean with In the Shade as Affiliate of the Year, Arrow Title as Affiliate Company of the Year and Anna Valencia Tillery with White Glove Moving the 2021 Standard of Excellence Award. When presented with the recognition, it was written that Anna’s creation of the Treasure Coast Premier Women’s Network, active role with the Women’s Council of Realtors Stuart-Martin and serving as the affiliate committee chairperson in a creative and fun way that is always engaging to the membership prompted the board to create an all new award just for her; what an honor! Yet, it all reality, it’s incredibly rewarding to serve in this active realtors association and be given the opportunity to introduce our services, as White Glove Moving & Storage, to the community as a whole. Thank you Martin County Realtors for this recognition and ongoing support.
